Abbott

George Abbott (1887-1995) worked with Rodgers and Hart to create the book for the show On Your Toes (1936.05) and, on his own, wrote the adaptation of Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors into The Boys From Syracuse (1938.14).  The magnificent ballet, Slaughter on Tenth Avenue came from On Your Toes, and we are including an upload of Slaughter on Tenth Avenue, with Richard Rodgers conducting the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra of New York.  The audio in this upload is not first rate; and even if it were, if you like this music, we would encourage you to buy a fresh cut vinyl record.  If one is unavailable, a CD would be your next best choice.
