Bob Fosse: Part Two
We have previously provided Joe Cocker’s rendition of the Ray Henderson hit song from 1926, “Bye Bye Blackbird,” a song that was featured on the soundtrack of the hit movie, Sleepless in Seattle.
We are now going to provide a look at the choreography of Bob Fosse, as we provide a clip of Ben Vereen and a company of dancers from the 1999 Broadway revue, Fosse. The song and dance routine was adapted from Fosse’s work with Liza Minelli in the one-woman show, Liza with a Z.
Next, we thought we would provide the full dance sequence from Kiss Me, Kate of Carol Haney and Bob Fosse dancing Fosse’s choreography to the music of “From This Moment On.”
Now, let’s take a look at Meg Gillentine, Julip Monge and Josh Rhodes, as they perform the song and dance routine, “Steam Heat,” seen originally in The Pajama Game and then adapted into 1999’s Fosse.
Finally, in this post, let’s take a look at the adaptation of “Big Spender” from Sweet Charity into 1999’s Fosse.
Stay tuned for two more segments on Bob Fosse’s choreography, as we explore Cabaret and then Chicago in our last post on dancing in this eighteen part series.
