Romberg–Desert Song, the banishment movie

This Thursday we are going to finish our study of The Desert Song. The story was artificial but the music was and is magical. In the movie, the Red Shadow is banished from the tribe because he demands that no harm shall befall Margot; his sword is broken; and he must wander out into the desert alone. The chorus bans him, and then we hear a reprise of “One Alone.”
