Romberg–Desert Song, Then you will, Boles and King, movie
Now, let’s watch the two lovers act out their differing views on love. While Margot sings of passion, note how she runs away from Pierre when he goes to embrace and kiss her. What we see in the dramatic action is that they are not so much in disagreement, after all. In short, this is a good, old-fashioned flirtation that is meant to end in love and marriage.
Also, note how much more satisfying the ending duet is when sung in its original key for a soprano and tenor.
