Now, let’s listen to the same song, “Maybe,” sung by Dawn Upshaw and Kurt Ollman on the Nonesuch recording. In this version, I can hear more distinctly the beginning of the flirtation by Lady Kay. It is not quite a seduction, because she is appealing to Jimmy’s sense of chivalry. Yet, she has set her cap on him and is starting a campaign to win him over.
