We now come to the final version of “Serenade,” and as you may have guessed, we have saved Mario Lanza’s performance for last. We didn’t do this to tease you; we did this because we think it highlights a very important point. The other tenors are or were great tenors; Mario’s voice is clearly better, in our opinion. However, judge for yourselves as you listen to this clip from the 1954 movie.
