Eubie Blake–shuffle Along, Pickaninny shoes

We are going to follow up this morning’s post with another Noble Sissle rendition, again with Eubie Blake on piano. This song is called “Pickaninny Shoes,” and it is more of a minstrel song than it is a rag or a blues song. It is gentle and affectionate, while being wistful and bittersweet.
