Today, we are going to focus on a lovely song by Victor Herbert that he wrote for the Ziegfeld Follies of 1920. It is called “When the Right One Comes Along,” and we recorded this on a 4 CD-set issued by New World Records. Our restoration features William Hicks on piano, Rebecca Luker as lead singer and a chorus of suitors, sung by Jason Bratton, Christopher Cazwell, Chris Carfizzi and David Winkworth.

Note the change in Herbert’s style, as he accommodated his composing to a post-operetta world.
