Gershwin–La-La-Lucille Nobody but you

La-La-Lucille was George Gershwin’s first Broadway show, where he wrote all of the music. The lyrics were written by Arthur J. Jackson and B. G. “Buddy” DeSliva; the music is alright but nothing of note. It opened on May 26, 1919 and enjoyed a good run of 104 performances. Late in the run, “Nobody but You” was added, a tune that Gershwin remained fond of and arranged it for his 1932 Song-Book.

Here is Julie Hill, singing the song for a Centaur, Naxos recording.
