We are going to end the week with a song from the Music Box Revue of 1922-23, which opened on Broadway on October 23, 1922. The show lasted for 330 performances, but we find only one song to be of any lasting influence. It is called “Pack Up Your Sins and Go to the Devil,” and it is performed here by Chick Webb and his Orchestra, with the vocal by Ella Fitzgerald. Chick had discovered Ella and had signed her to a contract; she was still with the band in 1938.
