Kern–Oh, Lady song Oh, Lady, Lady
Bill, Hale and Spike come on stage and sing a trio, “Do It Now.” They mean, go and fall in love today. We have nothing to play for you, unfortunately.
Spike and Fanny take the stage and sing about how they have planned for the years when they are retired from crime and want to settle down and raise a family. The lyrics are so witty; they describe all of the things they have stolen in “Our Little Nest.” Again, the only music we have for this song is what is found on the Overture, starting at 2:20.
We switch back to Mollie and the girls, and she explains how Bill just swept her off her feet in “Do Look at Him,” which we provided to you yesterday in the Overture. It has a gorgeous melody, but we have no recording other than the Overture (next to last cut starting at 5:40).
Bill meets the girls and sings about being single and the joy of getting married in “Oh, Lady! Lady!”
And yes, we do have a recorded version for you to enjoy. This is a performance by the Comic Opera Guild that was posted by jacksonupperco.com.
