Today, we are going to listen to the third and fourth versions of “Ol’ Man River.”

The third version is the most recent, and it was part of the 1987/88 John McGlinn restoration. It flows from the original Robert Russell Bennett orchestrations and was intended to capture the original tempo and style of the 1927 Broadway show. it is excellent.
