We have difficulty getting recorded songs from Jerome Kern’s Princess Theatre shows; however, we have a lovely song from Kern’s 1925 hit, Sunny. The song is “Who?” and the singers are Brent Barrett and Rebecca Luker. The occasion was the Boston Pops concert led by guest conductor John McGlinn. The narrator’s voice is none other than that of Kitty Carlisle Hart. The combination of Kern’s long lines and Oscar Hammerstein II’s equally lilting lyrics gives you a wonderful confection, but it is still just a lovely song and nothing more.
