Kiss Me, Kate–Introduction
We realize that you all have very limited time to read or watch or listen to anything. There are so many interests in your lives and only 24 hours in each day. For this reason, we spend hours going through all posted music to see what we can find. Then, we watch it all to see which clips represent the best performances. There are audio clips from the 1948 original cast recording; but some have many photos of the original stars. So, we include the ones with photos. There is the 1958 TV revival with Alfred Drake and Patricia Morrison; the TV revival with Robert Goulet one decade later. There is the Mitchell/Mazzie stage revival. We pick the best of the best for your enjoyment.
We take you through the show in order, so that the music and the story are intact. But we try not to overload any one posting, so that you can watch and listen within the time that you have at any one sitting. An example is in Part 4–we give you three different versions of “Brush Up Your Shakespeare,” including a great video from a 2001 live performance. There is so much to love about this one show. So, please, please remember to click on the link to the website where the music is embedded.
Lots of love from the Foundation team!
