Patsy Cline–Back in Baby’s arms
And finally, let’s end on a happy note. Here is a 1962 recording of “Back in Baby’s Arms.” It almost finishes the story of the man who left without saying goodbye in our first song. This time Patsy is using “baby” to refer to her man. It has a bouncy, infectious sound. Now, just in case you think the tune is familiar, you may be right. Facebook chose to advertise on TV, using the song as background for beagles finding heaven on a beach.
Here are the lyrics:
I’m back in baby’s arms
How I missed those lovin’ arms
I’m back where I belong
Back in baby’s arms
Don’t know why we quarreled
We never did before
Since we found out how it hurt
I bet we never quarrel anymore
I’m back in baby’s arms
How I missed those lovin’ arms
I’m back where I belong
Back in baby’s arms
Thought I didn’t need his love
‘Til he took it away
Now I’m back where I belong
And in my baby’s arms I’m gonna stay
I’m back in baby’s arms
How I missed those lovin’ arms
I’m back where I belong
Back in baby’s arms
