Finally, we are going to feature Louis Armstrong playing “Dinah” in a video clip taken from a recording in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1933. Louis was on tour with some fellow musicians, and we should be eternally grateful to the person who made this vintage recording. What a gift.

BTW, note the fast tempo used in this performance, faster even than Bing Crosby in The Big Broadcast. Also note the quality of Armstrong’s playing; his lip was still intact. Finally, watch the early form of swing band playing, where all of the sidemen played together.
