The next major blues composition that we would like to include in this survey is “Royal Garden Blues,” written in 1919. The composition was preserved forever by Bix Beiderbecke in 1927; but we also love the treatment given the song by Louis Armstrong and His All-Stars in 1955. So, we are going to provide both versions.
